Project Brief
This project involved formatting a series of essays on typography into individual spreads, using a structured grid. Each spread is designed to reflect its corresponding essay topic through thoughtful typeface selection, layout, and visual elements. By exploring type classifications and their history, the aim is to enhance each essay’s theme and create a cohesive collection of designs.
The Outcome
In each design choice, from the geometric sans serif used in the essay on modernism to the deliberately long line lengths in the essay on visual poetry, the core message of the corresponding text is always reflected. While these varied design elements enhance the individual essays,
a consistent grid and page margins unify the publication. The grid is particularly evident through the Swiss typographic layout used for the grid systems essay.
